"ON THE WINGS OF EUROPE"

¡¡¡Las cigüeñas vuelven a casa por Navidad!!! Era un hecho que las cigüeñas pasaban el invierno en África y volvían a Europa en primavera. Sin embargo, mañana comienza el invierno y las cigüeñas ya están de vuelta en Cáceres. ¿Cómo es esto posible? ¿ Será consecuencia del llamado "cambio climático"? Las temperaturas aumentan y convierten nuestros otoños e inviernos en épocas más agradables, pero ¿es esto conveniente para nuestro entorno? El 24 de noviembre tuvimos la primera experiencia de  “ birdwatching” con alumnos de 1º, 2ª y 4ª ESO. Recibieron unas nociones iniciales sobre las aves y la actividad y una hoja de de observación que tuvieron que rellenar al final. Tuvimos la suerte de observar: mirlos, paloma turca, jilgueros, mosquiteros, gorriones, urracas, … Nuestros deberes fueron buscar los nombres científicos de las aves avistadas.  ¡En 15 días volveremos a vernos! Students' first birdwatching activity “El Rodeo” Park On the 24th November students from 1st, 2nd snd 3rd of ESO experienced their firstbirdwatching activity. Firstly they received an explanation on birds and about the activityitself. They were given an observation sheet they had to fill at the end of the walk. We werelucky to see: common blackbirds, collared doves, house sparrows, magpies, spottedflycatcher...among others. We got homework:search the latin names of these birds. See you  in a fortnight!!

Cada quincena nuestro experto en aves, Javier Díaz Sepúlveda, propone un concurso para identificar las aves que aparecerán en un cartel expuesto en el hall del centro. Aquí tenéis uno de ellos. Podéis participar todos los integrantes de la comunidad educativa del IES Virgen de Guadalupe. Preparation of the two-year programme. On the 19th October Ester Gonzalo and Mercedes Bayón visited the beautiful town of Pardubice, in Czech Republic. There we met the group of teachers who will work together in the project. We were kindly welcomed by Czech coordinators: Michal Dusek, Vera Polakova and Vera Brachetkova. From Latvia, Livija Mukane and Iveta Vevere gathered with us. From Lithuania, Lenie Druteikiene and Sonata Petkuniene and from Croatia attended Anamarija Melnjak and Marijana Tomasic. Discussion about different aspects of the project was held and activities for next meeting in Spain were aggreed on. We are looking forward to seeing them and their students in February 2016!!!
