"ON THE WINGS OF EUROPE"

A new European project Erasmus Plus has started to fly inside IES Virgen de Guadalupe Secondary School. The suggestive title "On the Wings of Europe" hides the hope of sowing the seed of interest for ornithology and respect for nature, using a common language, English. Schools from five countries, Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia and, from Cáceres (Spain), IES Virgen de Guadalupe,are working hand in hand with the same aim. The event called "Week of Birds" was the first step towards the knowledge of bird migration. SEO Birdlife has been our partner lending an exhibition and a lecture by Marcelino Cardalliaguet, its regional representative. En el IES Virgen del Guadalupe un nuevo proyecto europeo Erasmus Plus ha iniciado el vuelo . Bajo el sugerente título “On the Wings of Europe” (“Sobre las alas de Europa”) se esconde la esperanza de sembrar entre alumnos y profesores el interés por la ornitología y el respeto a la naturaleza utilizando una lengua común, el inglés. Institutos de cinco países con realidades muy diferentes: República Checa, Letonia, Lituania, Croacia y, de España, el IES Virgen de Guadalupe de Cáceres trabajarán mano a mano con ese mismo fin. La celebración de “la semana de las aves” ha sido el paso inicial hacia el conocimiento de las aves migratorias que surcan nuestros cielos. La SEO Birdlife ha sido nuestra colaboradora imprescindible prestando una exposición y una charla de su delegado en Extremadura, Marcelino Cardalliaguet.
